SAHAJ, registered under the Trust Act in the year 2001, is an off- shoot
of N.M. Sadguru Water and Development Foundation.

In 1989 tribal women groups of eastern Gujarat were provided support
in off-farm income generation opportunities in order to refrain them from migrating.
Increased poverty, exploitation, lack of status and voice were some of the problems
these women faced.
|
|
|
Though they were talented they were totally dependent on the
male
members of the family. In order to address these issues and also to enhance the
skills they possessed, all the necessary design, technical and marketing inputs
were provided. New linkages and market avenues were explored.
